Carolyn loved animals and befriended many stray and uncared for cats and dogs. Her more memorable roles were Mother Abyss in the Sound of Music, Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret, Miss Skillon in See How They Run, and Mae Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie. Carolyn appeared in numerous productions with the Torrington Civic Theater, the Pleasant Valley Players, Simsbury Light Opera, and the Thomaston Opera House. She was one of the original members of the Torrington Chapter of the Sweet Adeline’s. Francis Choir for over 25 years and was frequently a soloist at funerals. John Paul the Great Parish and will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice and theatrical abilities. After her retirement, she continued to volunteer at the hospital for many years. She was a graduate of Torrington High School and worked for Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for 55 years in the admitting office and switchboard.
